Stage Fright by Erica Field

I recently read a book over this weekend and I couldn't put it down. Oddly enough, I am not sure how I even acquired the book to be honest. Perhaps, in a yard sale. Nevertheless, the book itself is in great condition as it was published in 1995. Moving on...

I would say "Stage Fright" is a for young adults. The back of the book states "When Alison is hired as a queen's attendant at the Merrie Ole England summer fair, it seems like the perfect job. But she soon discovers danger lurking in this fantasy world. There's someone who'll stop at nothing to see Merrie Olde England destroyed. Alison sets out to solve the mystery with the help of Robin, a handsome entertainer at the fair. But when the villains begin to stalk Alison, the stakes are suddenly much too high. Will her plan to save the fair be the final curtain for Alison?"

After reading that back cover how could anyone not be curious. I am surprised I've never heard of Erica Field before. The book has the same feel as an R. L. Stine or Christopher Pike book. I really enjoyed the story line and the characters. Perhaps my favorite part of the book was the playful banter between the two main characters. I could easily see this book be turned into a kid's PG-13 movie.  All in all, I loved the book and I will be looking for more books by Erica Field.
